Ghost of Mary Swanson

This legend takes place in Cacoosing. The two lovers, Mary Swanson and Tyler Henry, were in the woods one day, when they decided to swim in the creek. Tyler noticed a blue marble on the bottom of the creek, and swam down to get it. But he never came back up. Mary was so filled with grief that she carved his name and his years of life into the tree near the swimming hole, and then committed suicide. Her spirit still wanders the area today, searching for her love.

Swamp Monster

The Swamp Monster, a creature composed of vines, mud, and an amphibian-like skin, standing about 5 feet tall, is said to reside in shallow, muddy creeks in the Berks County area. Its diet is composed of small rodents, such as rats, muskrats, and groundhogs, as well as fish. It isn't known to be dangerous, but if disturbed, it will become aggressive. It is unknown how many there are, and of what gender. But the species has been able to sustain itself for at least 100 years since the first sighting. The most recent sighting was in Sinking Spring, about 7 months ago. The witness claimed to see something like the image above.

The One That Got Away

Two men, a father and son, were fishing on the Tulpehocken Creek, a tributary to the Schuylkill River. At first, it seemed as though the creek was empty, and there wasn't a bite. But then a large school of fish swam by. So the men cast their line in hope of catching one. They were lucky, and it seemed as though they struck gold. The fish seemed endless, and one after another the men reeled them in. But then the father hooked something. Something that felt too big to be a fish. He fought, and he fought, and even with the help of his son, they couldn't reel in the fish. So the father tells his son to go and get the knife out of the tackle box, so that they could cut the line. The son does so, and when he returns, all he can see is his father being helplessly dragged under the water. The last thing he hears from him is a scream of horror. True or false? Nobody knows...
